In partnership with the University of Padua and the sheep farm “Allevamento Veneto Ovini”, Intermizoo is working on a new research project in order to improve Ovine Meat Yield and Scrapie Genetic Resistence in sheep farming.

Some of the most important problems of the sheep farming in the North of Italy are meat yields and food safety, due to the difficulties linked with Scrapie Eradication Programs. Starting from the 1st January 2021, only ARR/ARR rams are allowed to the Selection, but  there is a negative correlation between Scrapie Resistence and muscular masses in Ovines. Intermizoo, is sharing all of its experience in Animal Genetics in order to contribute to the success of this Project!
